But how do you get the most out shopping at Goodwill? Here are a few tips! First all, encourage your kids to be themselves and find what they like (within the bounds of what is appropriate, of course). Self-expression through fashion is important to learn and embrace. It can be helpful in that process to understand your kids’ style progression and pay attention to things they like (such as music) that have an influence on style. This will help your kids find what they really want. Also, go with them to the store, but let them hunt on their own. Making a checklist of items (not forgetting shoes) for each of your kids is a great way to make sure they get everything they need without following them around. You can (and should) screen their finds before purchase, but do your own shopping while they do theirs. Finally, let them have fun! Let them enjoy the freedom of picking their own style, even if it’s different from yours.
