Hello! This blog entry is written solely for the stay-at-home trooper called: Mom. We know others may not think she works, but she knows being a mom is a job in and of itself! However, after these stay-at-home Moms have proven their worth in the household, I have found many look to expand their love for children and want to make a difference in the world around them- not just the world at home. Maybe she also wants to find a way to contribute to her household but doesn’t quite know what she should do!

Today I am going to discuss 5 reasons for why you should become a surrogate if you are a stay-at-home mom. For most mothers they love for covet the opportunity to be home with their children to watch them grow and be there for them when they’re needed. If you are one of the fortunate mothers who have the opportunity to stay at home while your husband or significant other works, chances are you have also thought about contributing to the household income. Many moms search and scour online for opportunities to work from home. Fortunately for them one of the best opportunities to work from home is to become a surrogate.

For the purposes of this article, I will assume that you have had excellent pregnancies as a Mom and that you loved being pregnant! If this is you- keep on reading! If you have not had excellent pregnancies or maybe there are more complications, make sure to check out our surrogate qualifications.

If you are a stay-at-home mom, you should become a surrogate because:

1. Being pregnant doesn’t require you to punch a time clock

If you’ve ever had the proverbial 9-to-5 job, you know how stressful it can be to just get yourself out of the door while you have children getting ready for school at the same time. If you haven’t had the 9-to-5 job count it as a blessing! Inevitably, you are bound to be late at some point in time due to a sick child, a screaming and naughty child in the morning, or any of the copious reasons that children distract you from your responsibilities.

When you become a surrogate, your main responsibilities include the following:

  1. Respond to requests for your medical records
  2. Respond to your texts and emails
  3. Go to your doctor’s appointments
  4. Make sure you’re taking your medication

Obviously, these responsibilities above would not require you to be somewhere for five days a week between 9-5. The beauty about becoming a surrogate is that you can fulfill all of your surrogate requirements, while facilitating your family responsibilities.

2. It is the coveted “stay at home job” that pays you over $4K per month

In other words, it pays you like you are working. Yes, I know it is work to be pregnant. But just as I discussed above, the functions of the opportunity to become a surrogate do not function as a normal job- but it does pay you as if you were making $4,000 per month. On top of this amount there are many other benefits involved for surrogate mothers, some of these benefits add up to thousands on top of your base pay. For most of our surrogates, they will make at least $50,000 sometimes more depending on other factors.

3. Most of your expenses are paid

As discussed above not only do you make $4,000+ per month but many other expenses are paid such as housekeeping, a stipend of $250 added onto your monthly pay, compensation for childcare if needed, and up to $1000 to purchase maternity clothing that you otherwise would have had to purchase yourself if you were pregnant with one of your own children. Some surrogates also negotiate some other types of surrogate pay such as massages, chiropractor visits and other expenses as part of their surrogate compensation. If you have to travel to the fertility clinic for your transfer, your intended parents who you are matched with will be footing the bill. All you have to do is clear your schedule, choose a partner to travel with you- and enjoy the process!

4. If you’ve been dreaming of a new house or car, just wait 10 months

If you’re currently a stay-at-home mother, chances are you are being paid for your hard labor of laundry, dishes, cooking, and tirelessly cleaning up after all of your minions. It’s hard to imagine how you are going to afford a second car, the dream house you have always wanted, or how to pay down that dreaded high interest credit card debt that somehow you have been lugging around over the years. I know a ton of women in their late 20s in early 30s (sometimes higher 30s) that are still massively in debt due to a number of unforeseen circumstances in their life. Becoming a surrogate for these stay-at-home moms has been a unique solution to their debt problem, and a simple solution to address long time needs of a car or house.

5. It fulfills a higher purpose

For many of our potential surrogate mothers, the reason they are interested in the opportunity to become a surrogate is because they know firsthand how wonderful it is to be a parent with beautiful children. They cannot think of life without their children and have a special place in their heart to help women or couples who are unable to have children because of infertility. For many of our surrogates, the stories of their intended parents are deeply touching and emotionally moving. After they meet with them, our surrogates know beyond the shadow of a doubt they are fulfilling a higher purpose.
