1. Have a picnic

Picnics are always a great hit. You can pack your lunch and eat outdoors wherever you desire. You can find a cool place to hang out such as a local park or head to the great outdoors at the national park. You might even be adventurous and head to the beach. Just make sure you are prepared for the sand. And if you don’t have the time to head outside to the park or mountains, you can just have as much fun within your own backyard!
2. Get creative
Sidewalk chalk is one of the many fun things you can do. You can hold an art contest and see how creative the kids can get. Invite the neighbors over for some fun too!
3. Run through the sprinklers
No matter how old you are, running through the sprinklers never gets old. Grab the hose and a sprinkler and get ready! The kids will love running through the sprinklers no matter what. This is perfect for the last remaining hot summer days.
4. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream

Go out for some ice cream and let your kiddos decorate their cones with whatever they want. If you usually don’t allow toppings on their ice cream, consider allowing them this time—it’s the end of summer after all! If they want a double scoop, consider it too! The end of summer is all about remember it while enjoying the best ice cream cone ever!
5. Make a lemonade stand
Lemonade stands are a fun summer classic. You can sell lemonade even with baked goods. It’s also a great fun activity to do with their friends so invite them over. The children can also learn something educational by money. You can teach them to count the change for their customers and talk about the goals of the money at the end of the day. Is there something they want to buy? Maybe they want to donate to a charitable organization.
6. Water balloon fight
Throw water balloons at each other has never been more fun. To make it an extra challenge for the kids set up obstacles. Be sure to set rules of engagement as sometimes these types of fun can get a little out of hand. Consider including rules about using the water balloons as you want these to last a while.
7. Swim party

Swim party is definitely a great way to end the summer. If you have a pool, invite your child’s friends over for a sun day of swimming in the sun. If you don’t have a pool, consider looking for local public pools or even renting a pool facility for a couple hours. Think up of some fun pool games that can be played. Bring some floating pool toys and diving sticks to get some extra fun in the party.
8. Movie marathon
If the kids love movies, then having a movie marathon can be super fun. Let them pick out movies they want to see and let them watch them all day. This is especially fun on those last summer days that might be rainy. Consider purchasing or making some fun snacks for them!
9. Roasting s’mores
Summer doesn’t end without making s’mores. You can make these over a fire if you have a fire pit in your backyard or just in your own home over the stove! The gooey marshmallow combined with a chocolatey taste in between graham crackers is a favorite for many!
