Many of us get caught up always being on the go. Some of us are constantly stressed in our everyday lives. Stuck between working, family obligations, and the large to-do lists, many of us don’t really find time for ourselves for doing things we want to do (actually need to do) that often leave us mentally and physically drained.
There are many ways to achieve a simpler and more balance life one day at a time. It’s best to simply ease these ways into your life rather diving right in. Big radical changes within your life do not always stay permanent.
Here are 9 easy ways you can find more balance in your life.
1. Disconnect
It’s important to take a moment or decide how much time you want to not be connected. This means defining a time you stop scrolling through your social media or watching one less TV show for the night.
2. Consider what you are eating
Become aware of what you are eating and why you are. Often I find myself eating because I am bored and not hungry. I usually choose things that I really don’t need when I could use something simpler and healthier for my body. figure out what works for you and makes your body feel good.
3. De-clutter
There are many things that can clutter up in your life. It can be a physical clutter of items within a room or area (my desk is one of those places). Clutter can add a lot to your plate, it can feel like you have more things to do. Consider decluttering areas of your life—get rid of the physical clutter in your home or the virtual clutter in your inbox.

4. Keep valuable relationships
Consider who you are keeping a relationship with. Evaluate your relations with others and if they aline with who you are or who you want to be. If not, it’s time to end the relationship.
5. Stick to making no exceptions
Define what are some things in your life you find important and should not find excuses to miss out on. This can be getting 8 hours of sleep a night, being active for at least 30 minutes three times a week, or eating a healthy meal once a day.
6. Set small goals daily
If you have a lot of things to get done on your to-do list, make a goal to get three of them done a day. It can be very overwhelming to try and tackle a mile-long to-do list within one day. Checking off some of the items on your list will help you feel more satisfied and successful.

7. Start a journal
Writing out your own thoughts has proven to help release stress, especially all of those negative emotions you might be feeling. You can be honest with yourself and not afraid to speak what you are saying.
8. Get in control of your finances
Find out where you stand with your finances. Overcome your fear of money and never avoid it. Make time to see where you need to pay off your credit card each month or setting a budget for yourself or your family.
9. Don’t overextend yourself
Too often we end up saying “yes” to many things we cannot simply do. Sometimes we have a fear of saying “no” to others when we know we cannot simply commit our time to helping them or stress ourselves out when we overextend our time. Saying “yes” to things half-heartedly can also lead to resentment and disappointment because you might not participate in what you are going to do.
