Adventuring into the world of motherhood is vastly different than what you might have experience before you had any children. There was more time spent scheduling time for yourself and not worrying about little ones getting into things they aren’t supposed to be getting into. Motherhood is surely filled with nonstop fun and hard times, but it can be challenging to schedule time for yourself. It’s one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Not only does it save your sanity, it can make you be a better mom too.

Here are three ways to schedule sometime to yourself in your busy mom life.

Ask for help from family and friends

If you are feeling overwhelmed and on the edge of frustration, it’s time you ask for some help. It’s not something you should be ashamed of doing. Sometimes constantly watching the children and taking them on errands can make it even harder. Your tasks might even get completed. Let alone, not scheduling time for yourself once in a while can quickly add up if you are not able to unwind.

Consider speaking to family and friends. Be specific about your needs.

Figure out what works for you

Decide how much time you need to take. It all depends on your lifestyle. You might need a five or ten-minute session throughout the day or longer. If your kids are able to have a routine, then why can’t you?

Take a look at your schedule and see where you can fit just a little of time to yourself. Just a few minutes of taking a breather alone can help you feel less overwhelming.

Protect your “me time” when you schedule it

Avoid in engaging in tasks you don’t enjoy during your “me time” you have scheduled. The dishes in the sink can wait to be cleaned and put away. The laundry in the drier waiting to be folded can wait too. Make life easier on yourself by doing things you want to do, it will become less stressful and more room to schedule things that can help you regenerate your energy.
