5 Reasons to Drink More Water

The warmer weather is something we can all get behind and agree that we love it. However, hotter days and longer hours with the sun out can be dangerous more than we can think. It causes us to become dehydrated quicker and likely with all the fun activities and laughing we surely forget to remember to drink enough water to stay hydrated. I am completely guilty of this.

Drinking water isn’t just for keeping us hydrated during the summer. In fact, there are plenty of great benefits water has for our bodies. Here are 5 reasons you and your family should be drinking more water!

1. Water boosts your energy

Water helps in regulating blood transportation of oxygen and other nutrients to your cells. If you are feeling physically drained and haven’t had an ounce of water yet, then get a glass of water and drink all of it. Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning can help you get that boost of energy too.

2. Water nourishes your skin

Your skin is filled with plenty of water. Drinking water helps hydrate your skin cells and will help in the long run with those fine lines and wrinkles. Water is great for flushing out impurities and helping the blood flow circulation in your body.

3. Water can help with a headache

Sometimes when we get a nasty migraine it’s due to lack of water. Start drinking a cup or more of water and within an hour your migraine is likely to stop pounding at your forehead.

4. Water helps you during working out

Drinking water before, during, and after your workout will have more benefits then you think. It can help with dehydration, heat strokes, and even muscle cramping. It also might help you give you that boost of energy mentioned before to keep you exercising longer and stronger!

5. Water helps with weight loss and calorie control

Drinking a glass before meals can help you feel fuller. Sometimes you aren’t just hungry, your body is actually dehydrated. It can also help you avoid getting those high calorie beverages too. Eating water rich foods too, such as fruits and vegetables can help you feel fuller and are great for eating with healthy benefits.
