Because most moms are typically juggling multiple things at once nowadays, life can become a bit hectic at best. Rather than trying to play the role of super mom and feeling as though you’re constantly rushing from one task to the next, why not lighten your load and make your life a little easier and more enjoyable.
Learn to Delegate
It’s not unusual to find moms who look after the kids, hold down a full-time job, and are working to better their career in their “free time” by obtaining an online degree such as a master in marketing online. If you look at all those responsibilities it’s hard to understand how there are even enough hours in the day to get everything done. The simple answer is that there isn’t enough time. This is why it’s important to learn to delegate.
When you think about it, you probably delegate tasks at work, and you’ll certainly need to use those delegation skills once you get that online MSM degree and enter your field of study. So why not use these same skills at home?
So what does it mean to delegate at home? It’s the exact same concept you would use in the workplace. You assign tasks/chores to others on your team – in this case, your family. This frees up your time, allows you to focus better and feel more efficient in general. As a side note, it’s also teaching your kids about responsibility and the importance of helping out.
Learn to Say No
While it would be nice to think you can be everything to everyone all the time, there comes a point where you need to feel comfortable saying no. Maybe you are busy studying for a big exam, you’ve got a double-shift at work this week, the laundry is piling up, and now one of your youngest children wants you to bake a massive batch of cookies. This is an excellent time to say no and lighten your load.
Saying no isn’t giving up, and it’s not admitting defeat either. Saying no means you’re self-aware and understand what your limits are and when you will be spreading yourself too thin.
Learn Not to Sweat the Small Things
Are you the type that lets the small things get to you? In reality, you are making things much harder than they need to be. Why put pressure on yourself to be perfect at all times? Focus on doing your best and when things don’t work out exactly as planned, brush it off and move on. There is nothing to gain by wallowing in it and beating yourself up.
This tip not only helps you lighten the load as far as tasks, but it also lightens the load mentally.
Learn to Slow Down and Enjoy Life
Of course, you can’t push everything to the side, as there are things you are responsible for and need to be done, but at the same time, it doesn’t hurt to slow down and enjoy life. These tips can certainly help you do just that.
