11 Habits That Will Make You a Happy Mom

When I see upbeat moms, I tend to envy them and wonder how they keep the joy and love flowing. They always seem to have it figured out. I am always feeling exhausted and at the end of my mental and physical limits. However, chances are those moms just likely are stressed and exhausted as I am feeling right now.

I realized it’s important to choose habits that bring light and positivity into my life. Being a mom that’s always waking up on the wrong side of the bed isn’t going to be fun to be around. Here are some important habits that will make you a happy mom!

1. Get some rest

Being sleep-deprived turns me into one grumpy, monster mom. It’s important to try and get as much sleep as you can. I know when I have at least near to the hours I sleep a night I feel better. Also, be sure to eat something in the morning. Sleep-deprived and a starving making one grumpy hangry mom. Taking care of yourself will help you be a happier mom and enjoy more of the moments with your kids.

2. Ask for help

Asking for help doesn’t make you a failure or bad mom. A happy mom will not be afraid to seek out help from family and friends. Asking for a night off is sometimes what we happy moms need. Just ask and be sure to say please and thank you.

3. Hang out with your mommy friends

Having mom friends that you can interact with is amazing. Mom friends are supportive and always make a great individual to get some advice from or just to talk about life. Mom friends also understand what you are going through. You can plan playdates too!

4. Get active

Going to the gym or exercising at home has proven to make you feel less stressed by your mood getting boosted. You can even encourage your children to exercise too!

5. Pick and choose

Spend time with your little ones separately if you have more than one kid. You can go on one-on-one dates or just plan a fun, simple out going. You can even spend time with just a sibling for a little amount of time if that’s all you have at home. Any time with your child one-on-one will create a strong bond with your child and make you a happy mom!

6. Get your groove on

A happy mom doesn’t forget about her significant other. A happy couple or marriage keeps the foundation in your family. So keep flirting and bring a smile on both of your faces.

7. Count your blessings

Appreciating what you have makes you have a happy perspective on everything in your life. There is no need to focus your energy on what you have or comparing your relationship and parenting to other parents with their kids. Take pride in what you have and make the best of it.

8. Plan a little fun

Happy moms have a little fun in their lives. You can treat yourself with a little something. Sometimes you can buy yourself flowers just for the sake of it. you can get a facial, car detailed, or meet a friend or spouse for lunch.

9.Have some wiggle room

Having a little fun with spontaneous activities can make everything better. Dancing to music while you clean the house or getting ice cream after an activity with the kids are some great ways.

10. Serve others

Serving others can make you feel personally joyful, but it can also teach your children a valuable lesson by being kind to others. Serving others doesn’t have to be a handful of time, a simple task for a neighbor or friend will show kindness from your heart.
