The much-anticipated (and dreaded) first day of school frenzy is just around the corner. Let’s face it, this time can be incredible hectic, and expensive. Sadly, not every family can afford all the supplies their children need for the school. Many teachers even end up funding some of their classroom supplies out of their own pockets. While most of us would love to do something about that, we’re just too busy trying to get out own families ready for back to school to have the time and energy to find out how we can help. Fortunately, helping provide school supplies for those in need and underfunded classrooms is as simple as doing your own back to school shopping.
That’s right, The Clorox Company just made school supply shopping simpler for those in need with a $100,000 donation to DonorsChoose.org, a charity website that helps teachers get the funds they need for various classroom projects and supplies. And through Clorox’s new receipt validation program people across the country can help schools, just by shopping for back to school necessities. Earn rewards when you buy Clorox®, Hidden Valley® and Glad® products. Then choose to donate your rewards to DonorsChoose.org or redeem for money back via Paypal. For every $5 spent on participating products, you will receive $1 (up to $5) that you can either redeem as a donation to DonorsChoose.org or money off on future purchases. Your reward, your choice. It’s easy! Just snap a picture of your receipt and follow the instructions on cloroxforschools.com to redeem your rewards.
In addition to the DonorsChoose.org partnership, Clorox will host pop-up shops in communities in Chicago and Philadelphia. At each event, essential school supplies and products from Clorox, Glad and Hidden Valley Ranch will be distributed free of charge so that families and teachers can focus on having a happy and healthy school year, rather than worrying about the cost of school supplies.
