I didn’t know that dessert could get better but I think it just did! I got my first dessert kit from Doorstep Desserts in the mail and not only is their dessert delicious but it really couldn’t be easier. Who doesn’t dream of dessert just showing up at their doorstep? Doorstep Desserts is a subscription box company offering pre-portion dessert ingredients delivered to your door! The desserts are really easy to assemble and just like that you’ve got the perfect dessert for your family, a standing date with friends, girls night or binge watching TV.
With the subscription I got to choose between two enticing dessert options. I went with vanilla creme cake truffles…. yeah that’s right! Yum! The three components arrived in great shape and included a recipe card that guided me through the creation of a delicious recipe in minutes. There was no baking required, Doorstep Desserts took care of that part, and I was delighted that the dessert was intricate enough that it looked like I’d slaved over them!
Where I think it could really be handy is for a standing date with our friends. When we are already getting together weekly, I don’t want to put a ton of time in to making a dessert on top of a meal. I also don’t want a huge dessert that we end up with lots of left-overs that I end up eating all throughout the week. The dessert kit makes a dessert that is just the right size for after one meal, which is perfect when I’m trying to limit my sugar intake. It also means that I don’t have to keep lots of dessert makings on hand that will tempt me to snack all throughout the week. It really offers the opportunity to be more intentional with treating myself and rewarding myself when I’ve been consistently eating healthily.
