Yes, It’s True!  Kids Can Really Learn While Playing!

Can kids really learn while having fun? The folks at Edushape are sure they can and should! Edushape has been doing it since the company started in 1983.  Practicing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, learning to play with others are all important as a child develops. All Edushape products incorporate many developmental skills that are building blocks for skills for life.

Edushape started as a provider of toys for schools and daycare centers. What they soon noticed was that parents also became early fans of Edushape and the two markets remain loyal to the brand.  Does the brand Edushape sound familiar? It should be! Today the products are still highly regarded by pre-school educators, and you will see many EduShape products at day care chains such as Bright Horizons and KinderCare as well as in the day care centers of the U.S. Navy.

Over 300 products are currently available from Edushape, starting with newborns up to age five.  The product selection falls into the following categories: Infants & Toddlers, Construction Zone, Water Play, Music, and Puzzles & Games.  Believe it or not, some of the original toys, which were developed over 30 years ago, are still in the line today! Oldies but goodies as they say!

The Edushape team realizes that inspiration can come from a variety of sources.  They have a full staff of designers and product developers who work with inventors, educators and child development specialists. Toys incorporate ideas and feedback from parents.

Generally, the process is quite simple: after designers come up with product ideas, they always have a core group of educators and child development specialists evaluate the product’s performance in terms of promoting a child’s learning and development.  Product managers and marketing teams get involved to make the idea in a functional product.  No product has just one person behind it! Edushape believes in working together. Each toy becomes a communal effort resulting in the products that enhance skills through play.

Edushape is extremely proud to have remained true to one of our founding principles to teach through play.  All products incorporate many developmental skills that are building blocks for skills for life.  For example, the Magic Brix enhances fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, color recognition and socialization among others.  Each product in the line features not only a suggested age for the child, but it also features a key to the different skills that the toy will encourage.
