I simply adore love letters. Having a hand written letter from my husband means the world to me. It’s almost like it captures the feelings and essence of our relationship at the time of him writing it. My favorite love letters are the ones that he and I wrote to each other on the days leading up to our wedding. We were both so giddy about our upcoming big day that we’d both find ourselves waking up well before the rest of our friends and family members that had gathered for our destination wedding in Scotland. I’d wake up and write him a love letter full of my excitement and joy in him and then I’d tip toe through the castle we were staying at and slide the love note under his door and sneak back to my room. On other mornings, I would wake up to a love letter under my door with declarations of his love. We still have all of those love letters and they are some of my most treasured possessions.
