There are so many amazing benefits to having kids. You could never imagine that you would love these little humans as much as you do. You wouldn’t change them for the world. But that doesn’t mean you don’t need a break now and then. Some parents would feel guilty about going on vacation without their kids. However, you can look at it as having separate vacations. They can stay with their grandparents or maybe go to camp, and you can have some time to yourself. If you feel bad about them missing out, remember that they have plenty of time to see the world. And, of course, it’s the perfect opportunity to do things they would hate.

Escape to the Middle of Nowhere
Even when your children are excellent at entertaining themselves, they can struggle when there isn’t much to do. On top of that, having people with little legs with you can limit the amount of physical activity you can do. If you and your partner love adventure and discovering somewhere new, go in search of somewhere out of the way. You could stay in a treehouse or a cabin in the woods, hike through a desert or find a coastal hideaway. Try Canada or Alaska to escape to the wilderness.
Take a Cruise
You can find cruises designed for families, but even the closest family could struggle with being cooped up in a cabin together. A cruise is a different experience when it’s just the two of you, and maybe you can spend a little more per person too. Instead of Disney cruise, you can choose something more adult. Fly into Europe and then travel back to the States or sail around the Mediterranean. You can stop off at lots of little ports, and you’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace without the kids in tow.
Go Somewhere Romantic
When you have kids, it’s not your last chance for a romantic escape. You can still get away, just the two of you, for dinners, evening strolls and exploring art and culture. You can’t beat one of the famously romantic European destinations, such as Paris or Venice. Use Venere hotels to book a room in a cozy boutique hotel, and you won’t ever want to leave. In Venice, you can take a gondola ride and walk hand in hand through the narrow streets.
Sit Back and Relax
You might be lucky enough to have kids who enjoy lounging around now and then. But even if you do, it feels like you should be encouraging them to be more active. Sometimes, though, you just want to lie by a swimming pool for a week. If you want to escape, head to the Caribbean. You can get settled in the sun as soon as you arrive, and you won’t have to get up until you leave.
You don’t have to feel guilty about leaving the kids behind. Set them up with an experience they’ll love, and you can have the break you deserve.
