Leaving the house for a quick trip isn’t as simple as it sounds – not with a newborn. Now, a simple outing to the store or to a friend’s house for a playdate is something you need to prepare for.
Here’s a few tips for on-the-go with baby:
- Dirty restroom? Don’t chance the baby changing counter if it looks unstable or has a broken safety strap. This is when you’ll be happy for a baby changing pad. Put the pad on the floor with paper towels beneath it for extra layers of protection. Use your wipes to keep things clean and hand sanitizer is a great extra.
- For breast feeding on the go, look for family restrooms in malls, airports, and arenas. Try a large changing room, or a nice recliner in a furniture store with a blanket draped over you. If all else fails, you can always fall back on your car.
- Keep a great sense of humor and laugh. Don’t worry about the opinions of others as most parents out their can sympathize with any mishaps that happen while you are out and about. Take things a step at a time and try to keep a well stocked diaper bag for any emergencies.
