52 Week Money Challenge in 2015

2015

Did you make any New Years resolutions?   I am still in the process of making my goals for the year. However a fun one I have decided to re-try  this year is the 52 week Money Challenge. Yes, I just sadi re-try, because in 2014 we started this fun money challenge only discovering at times our need for American dollars while living in Mexico thus we broke into our jar a few times.  So we will re-try this challenge.

It is a  fun way to save money by placing the amount of money that correlates with each week of the year.  Everyone is talking about this challenge on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. There is still time for you to join in and begin saving.

The idea is to use a jar or other container and  during the first week of the year, you place  $1 inside your container . During the second week, you place  $2 into the container. Then each following week you continue  adding based on which week on the year it is such as week 36 you add in $36 to your container by the last week of the year you will be adding in $52 which will now bring your container balance to $1378.00.

What could you do with an extra $1378.00 next December ?  Plan a vacation, make a donation to your favorite charity (mine is Homes of Hope), re-decorate a room in your home or even  add it your your kids college fund.  I am positive you coudl create a long list of ways to spend it.  But first you have to begin.  So join me as our family takes the 52 week money challenge in 2014.

Step #1 – Find a container to hold your weekly deposits.

Step #2 – Print out your 52 week money challenge label for your container.  This will help continue to motivate your weekly saving challenge as your family can see the progress from week to week.  Click here to print challenge from Stuck at home mom.

Step #3 – Begin dreaming of what you will do with your $1378.00 next December.
