I have to admit we turn ours off because it goes off whenever we cook something in the oven…
Especially in the winter, we hear about so many house fires. I do need to put up a few more smoke detectors.

A good friend of mine experienced the horror of fire in her family’s house when she was a child. They have no photos of their childhood, let alone other invaluable items…but they all got out and survived. Because I know this story, I have always taken fire safety very seriously. We are BIG believers in smoke alarms. Last February my parents’ home burned down. The fire spread so quickly that they were barely able to escape with just the clothes they had on. My stepmom was in the shower and my dad was sleeping in the living room and if the smoke alarm hadn’t woken him up then, as bad as things were, it could have been so much more worse.
This is one of my greatest fears! Would love to win this for my family!
