ZapVM is a free iOS app that allows you to customize and send visual messages to friends, created through videos, pictures, captions, text, sound, drawings and more.
It might sound daunting at first. It did to me. My twelve year old out does any of my attempts to produce anything like a “movie” or 
an app that edits cell phone photos and videos. So I was hesitant and expected absolutely confusion when I first used ZapVM. But I was pleasantly surprised that, along with extensive and helpful options, ZapVM is very user-friendly and intuitive.

It’s hard to explain exactly how ZapVM works without checking it out, but I think I can entice you to try it out by telling you of various things it might be used for: a visual travel vlog or message to friends and family back home, a how-to instructional for all sorts of activities, from explaining to your kid how to do chores properly ,to sharing a personal recipe with other (as you’ll see in my example zap) s. ZapVM, in short, is a way to easily customize your messages into story-like experiences that you can create with only your cellphone.

So far I’ve found that I can utilize ZapVM best by making videos to send to my kids. Either I can make nice, loving, miss you visual messages to my oldest kids who live away form home, or I can make fun, visual instructionals to my youngest, teaching them how to properly turn on the laundry machine, or showing them the mistakes they made while cleaning their room. What I like about ZapVM is that it helps me to make these messages really fun and engaging, without having to use multiple apps or know be very tech-savvy.
