Out and About in L.A —Top Attractions for Families

Families can choose from any number of places in the USA and have an enjoyable vacation. There’s some serious competition out there, and one of the heavy hitters in this regard is Los Angeles. The City of Angels has a host of attractions for adults and kids to enjoy, so pack your bags, grab your boarding passes for your flights to Los Angeles, and let the fun begin.

Universal Studios Hollywood

This is a must for movie fans. In fact, it’s a must even if you’re not! The studio tour takes you to the Universal backlot for a look at some cinema-making magic, while the theme park offers plenty of rides based on movies such as Jurassic Park, The Mummy, and King Kong. There’s plenty more to enjoy, from kid’s play areas to the entertainment and restaurants. If you want to stay near by the amusement park, then consider getting a room at the universal studios hotel

Griffith Observatory

Star gazers will enjoy a visit to this landmark building in L.A.  It’s home to a number of attractions, including shows at the planetarium, short presentations in the Event Horizon theater, public star parties, and a sunset walk-and-talk. There are also free public telescopes for those visiting to try some star gazing on clear nights.

Watts Towers

Located in the Simon Rodia State Park, these towers are one of the city’s more eccentric attractions. There are seventeen of them in total, which were erected over a 30 year period by the man who gave his name to the park. Constructed of steel, concrete, and wire mesh, they’re covered in objects such as tiles, soft drink bottles, shells, and mirrors. The tallest of the towers rises to almost 100 feet high, and the park offers the chance to relax and see a little piece of Los Angeles history.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater

This is something of an institution famous in L.A., with Bob Baker having welcomed guests to his theater for over 50 years. Now it’s designated an LA Historic/Cultural Monument and a visit is a way to relive the glory days of puppet entertainment. Kids and adults will love it.

Families have so much choice when it comes to L.A. attractions. If you visit this famous city try some of those shown above for a fun and entertaining experience that will have you looking to book your next family vacation as soon as you get home.
