They Inspire Us as They Make a Difference & $150 giveaway #ItsOurTime #sp

It’s Our Time: For years our Olympians have worked tirelessly to represent our nation.  Their determination, perseverance, and inspiration. Now it’s our time to show our support!

Which is why I have joined together with AT&T ‘s #ItsOurTime campaign – as we watch the 2014 Winter Olympics we can now cheer them on and inspire them to the Gold just as they have inspired us in so many ways.

Have you ever wondered what inspires them?  Olympian Snowboarder Justin Reiter shared this in a recent interview when asked What inspires him to keep going?

Over the last several months I have encountered many professional athletes who not only spend their days preparing for competition but they also give back in some pretty amazing ways.  You have heard me share my passion for Homes of Hope and the work our family is involved with here  in Tijuana, Mexico.  So when Olympians and professional athletes  such as Olympian Sean Johnson, The US Cycling team,  Guy East (track cyclist) or former Super Bowl  players show up for a weekend wearing grubby painting clothes , pick up a hammer and share their lives with the poor and needy in a country I love. They quickly become the heroes I want my children to look up to. Heroes who inspire us to move out of our comfort zone and  make a difference in the lives of others.

Each time a professional athlete arrives in Tijuana, Mexico they are cheering on the families who live here by taking time to build a Homes of Hope which not only provides safe shelter but opportunity for these families that otherwise would take them years to accomplish.

One of my favorite professional athlete quotes comes from Guy East  “I like racing bikes, but I want to see lives changed and communities transformed.” – Guy East (track cyclist).  I have witnessed this professional athlete in action changing lives by his commitment to More Than Sport where he brings teams of professional athletes to Tijuana to build homes.

I am inspired by these athletes who get up daily training to be the best they can be and then still take time to give to others making a difference.
