Designing your home and getting it to look the way you want it to can be great fun, especially if you’re the kind of person who enjoys getting creative. However, if you’re a landlord who is trying to design homes for other families that you may never have met yet to live in, it can be a daunting task.
Here are just a few types of things that you might want to think about when you are ready to start furnishing any of the homes that you want to let out to families, big or small.
How easy will it be to keep clean?
The way that you would design a home if you lived with your family would be a lot different to the way that you might do it if you lived alone or with your partner. If you have children in your house that then might influence the way you choose to design your home. You might choose different colour carpets that won’t show up stains as easily, and you might want to choose a sofa that will be easier to clean. Being a parent is a 24/7 job so you might want to be able to make your home look good with the minimum effort possible. Without knowing the individual needs of each family and what will appeal to them, it can be hard to design a home fit for a family of tenets to live in.
What size and type of sofa do you want?
Which sofa, or suite you will buy will depend largely on the size and age range of your family. If you are letting to a smaller family, you may be able to buy a three-piece sofa and perhaps a chair. If you wanted, you could also buy one that doubles as a sofa bed for if they have friends or other family members come to stay over.
Think about colours
As a landlord, you will have to think about what kind of colour scheme that you want throughout your properties. While colours like white and magnolia neutral, they also show up stains and dirty hand prints very easily, which could mean the need to redecorate more often.
Ask any families that you know for their design ideas when choosing how to decorate your properties if you are unsure what might appeal to that market.
