Great Alternative to the Current Trend of “My Child Wants an Smartphone” – #InnoTab3S #spon

innotab3-4I’m teaming up with SocialMoms and VTech to let you know what I think about the new #InnoTab3S learning tablet.

“My child wants a smartphone…” Yes, my kid too. Somehow, my twelve year old got in his head (well saw it in his friends hands!) that he needs his own smartphone. Obviously, I don’t think this should be the case. It seems a bit over the top! and, rightly so. He doesn’t need to be in constant contact with his friends, he doesn’t need to carry around a $400 gizmo in his pocket as he can barely keep track of the shoes on his feet as it is. However, there are certain things about my child having a smartphone that would be nice. I mean all three of my older kids have smartphones and it lets me, as a worried mom, feel very secure knowing that they can get in touch with me whenever. Though any cheap cellphone could do that! but a smartphone allows us as a family to connect, more easily, as a family. For example, we are notorious for ridiculously long and often-scattered group text messages where we can share laughs, joys and celebrations together. It also allows for us to share intimate moments with each other instantly..just the other day I was able to send pictures of my youngest’s birthday to my three oldest kids as I took the pictures. At the end of the day, whether us moms feel like technology is getting in the way or not, it’s here to stay and we should begin to think about the positive outcomes of it!

So that’s why I’ve decided to team up with VTech and let you know about their new InnoTab 3S learning tablet. Not only is the interface totally kid-friendly (totally geared towards children!), but this little gadget has four essential functions that are perfect my two youngest, especially considering our crazy homeschool schedule. First and foremost, the tablet allows my kids to access TONS of educational apps and educational games that I’m a big fan of because, not only does it keep them occupied, but it keeps their brains stimulated in productive directions. Secondly, it allows my kids to keep in touch with me via my own smartphone! They can send texts, pictures, voice messages, drawings and more. This is totally essential for our current situation: the ability to stay connected throughout the day. And, thirdly, the device allow us parents to use our smartphones to communicate back to them! easily responding with text or pictures. And, finally, the most unimportant-important thing that my kids will absolutely love and I can at least rest well knowing it’s kid-friendly (that is, keep-my-child-young-friendly): the InnoTab 3S comes with a kid-safe web browser. This is big for me because my kids are growing up quick and already searching the web for all sorts of different things and, without being able to constantly monitor them, it’s great that this tablet will keep my children safe from potentially disastrous web search accidents. The InnoTab 3S comes with a free year of Basic Kid Connect, which allows them to communicate with your smartphone and you with theirs. It also comes with a rechargeable battery and 20 free Apps to get your kids started. Did I forget to mention how incredibly cheap this all is? $79.99. That’s correct, way cheaper than any smartphone, considering you don’t have to sign up for some ridiculous year-long, monthly payment cell phone service.
