SCARS

scarOne of the many things I love about cops is that we love telling stories. Every time my old partner, Tom, and I get together, we go through the old schtick of stories we lived out together.  Our families listen because (we make them) the stories are engaging, exciting, unpredictable and for the most part utterly inappropriate.  People that commit crimes often do inappropriate things which sure make for some good stories!

One of the many things I love about Jesus is He knew how to tell a story.  He strategically placed stories throughout His life story to inspire, correct, love, teach and prepare those He loves.  He could have taken an entirely different approach, but He told stories and as a result, lives were changed.

One of the many things I love about authentic Jesus-lovers is that they have scars and they’re not afraid to use them.  They follow Jesus’ story-sharing-example and when the Holy Spirit prompts, they share the story behind their scar and as a result, lives are changed.

Scars are an opportunity to share about Jesus’ healing in your life.

Today I want to encouraged you to invite God into where you hurt, let Him heal you and when prompted, share the story of your scar!
