Nearly 20 years ago my children began placing their shoes outside on the night of December 5th in hopes that St. Nick would come by on December 6th and fill them with gifts. Some years they even set out carrots and apples to feed his famous reindeer.
The tradition of leaving your shoes out for St. Nick on December 6th which is the feast day of the saint, St. Nicholas, began as a European tradition where the children would set out their shoes just as my children do now in hopes of finding gifts and treats when they woke in the morning.
Once again this year my children will place out their shoes and St. Nick ( The Mom) will fill them full of surprises.
Does your family celebrate St. Nicks Night?
