Philips Breast Cancer Awareness and $100 Giveaway!

BCA_logo_text_Edit

I’m teaming up with Philips Breast Cancer Awareness for October. If you didn’t already know, October is the official month of Breast Cancer Awareness. It’s wonderful to have Philips® as part of this month-long support for those who have beast cancer or have lost loved ones to breast cancer. The unique participation of Philips® is that they’re major technological innovators behind early breast cancer prevention. For example, their MicroDose Mammography program can detect breast cancer up to two years before the tumor can even be felt. This is just one extremely important way that Philips® is actively working towards the prevention of breast cancer from taking lives. But their campaign includes other great things, like their creative idea to light up popular monuments in pink.

WordmarkSo Philips® has asked me to giveaway a $100 Visa giftcard to a user who comments on this post how they’d use the giftcard towards good! Maybe you’d buy groceries for a nearby shelter? Or maybe sponsor somebody in a Breast Cancer Awareness walk? Be creative!

  1. I would use it to buy food for the food pantry for Thanksgiving and to help sponsor a family in need for the holidays. I would love for my children to have the opportunity to select some gifts they think other children would like to have.

  2. I close friend of mine just found out that she has breast cancer. She is a mom with four young children. She caught it pretty early (thank god!) but still needs to go thru treatment and surgery. I’m starting an online calendar where neighbors and friends can sign up for a day to make a meal for them. I would use this giftcard towards ingredients for making a lasagna and bread and a fun dessert for them. I would also like to put together a bag filled with fun things for the kids. This would help this mom out huge and would hopefully relieve some stress this family has! Thanks for the chance!!!!! p.s. I’m doing the breast cancer walk for her!!!!!!

  3. I would go shopping for Christmas gifts with the kids, and let them pick them out. We do this every year and donate to Toys for Tots – this would be great to have extra money to spend on this.

  4. I would put it towards the breast cancer walk. I am a 1 year survivor!! And would love to give back to help.
    Pink power,
    Jane

  5. I would use it to buy supplies for my son’s class/school. (Paper towels; disinfectant wipes; tissues;pencils; folders; paper/notebooks;snacks-pretzels, crackers; lil rewards-bookmarks, small toys; colored paper; things to hang stuff on the wall; anything that the teachers have to pay out of pocket for…I already buy and donate much of this and the $100 would help me off-set the cost.) Thanks for the opportunity!

  6. AS friend of mine had his SNAP food credit suspended because he didn’t remember to fill out some forms ( elderly, has problems with memory): I would use this money to buy him groceries.

  7. I would use it to help cover my copay for getting a diagnostic mammogram. Even with insurance, I am looking at paying upwards of $500 just for this procedure.

  8. I would give it to my neighbors. They fell on hard times and are trying to raise 3 young boys and expressed to me Christmas this year will be non-existent.

  9. There is a neighborhood boy that gets in trouble a lot. His mom works a lot and is gone dating often too, and he may just need some extra care. 🙂 I am giving him goodie bags for Halloween to keep him busy, I could buy him Christmas gifts with the card and also gifts for my other neighbor a grandmother who raises her grandson, I know money is tight for her. 🙂

  10. I’d use it at the Ronald McDonald House – which was often our home in earlier days. My daughter loved to go there and cook or help out when she wasn’t ill and this would be a good way to carry her legacy forward.

  11. I work at a local non profit and we work with families of all sorts. Lately one of our new ones is for cancer patients. I think I would use my gift card to sponsor a pamper day for a family in need and take them to feel special. I find that material items dont hold as much meaning as memories we share. I would love to make someone smile 🙂

  12. I would buy some needed items for someone dealing with a rare cancer, and a couple of things for someone who lost their home,

  13. I would use it to help my single mom friend/neighbor with bills or groceries or Christmas, whichever would help her the most! 🙂

  14. Man, this would be so handy! We just moved from another country and had to leave all our household goods behind. We need everything, basically! I would buy some dishes with this.

  15. I could sponsor a child in my community to put him or her in little league. There are a lot of us that do that here because money is so hard to come buy for many families and we believe in making sure the children have happy and helthy things to do.

  16. I have a very good friend who is battling cancer for a second time. She is only in her thirties and has two young daughters, ages 4 and 6. She just had her last chemo treatment (hopefully!) this past Monday and has been feeling sick from these treatments for months now, I would love to send her for a day of pampering….a day that is all about making her feel AWESOME!

  17. It would be really cool to surprise someone by sponsoring them in a charity event, but I could also purchase turkeys for Thanksgiving for the less fortunate.

  18. I would use this to purchase presents for my sisters family. They just found out their grandma is passing away from cancer and may not make it the weekend. Prayers to everyone affected by cancer.

  19. i would use this to buy groceries for my grandbabies and their mother. she just completed her rehab, drug courses, dui courses, goes to church 3 times a week and is now moving into a house with her girls and start a new life over.
