Kids Love The New Google Chromebook

chromeThere hasn’t been too many new additions to technology in the last couple of years; especially in the notebook arena. However one new addition is the new Chromebook which offer almost all the features of a full laptop at a fraction of the cost. So when asked by Staples to try it our we were eager to just see how this new piece of technology would work with our family.

For only $249.00 you can basically do everything on a Chromebook as you would a traditional notebook and/or laptop. The only difference is your information is in the cloud on your Google account rather than your computer. With our kids it is nice that our children can all use the Chromebook but all have different accounts. Once you set up a Google account you can use the Chromebook as a laptop with email, website search and even writing documents and spreadsheets.

Another great feature is not having to fool with any software. Using Google’s many different “Apps” it allows you to do almost all of your basic tasks that you traditionally do 95% of the time. The software is all on the Internet so you never have to fool with installing or updating software. Google does all of it for you. Furthermore, because it is online you never have to worry about loosing your work. Everything saves automatically. I just love this. Especially when it comes to my kids and their homework.

Lastly, with the price being a couple hundred dollars I don’t have to stress out as much with my children loosing or miss-handling the device. We try to be as careful as we can but like all kids in school things happen. And, if for some reason the device is stolen or lost all of our private information is safe in the cloud on our Google account. We may loose our computer but we don’t loose some of our family’s personal information.

If you are looking for a good homework and school device for your kids you can find it in the Google Chromebook and you can now find it at Staples .

  1. I work at a high school and all freshmen and sophomores are issued chromebooks. They are a great tool, just be extra carful because the screens crack and break easily.
