HP TouchThe kids are back in school and my kids have begun their first year of Home Schooling to celebrate we joined in with HP  in their HP Family Time campaign trying out two of their latest products  the HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11   and the HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One, not only designed for the workplace but for entire family.   So follow us along this week as we share our HP Homework assignments with you including a Giveaway you won’t want to miss.  Find our what our family says about these new HP Products.

To kick off our first Homework Assignment was to use the HP Pavilion Tochore-chartuchSmart 11  to create Chore Charts or better known in our home as Daily Chcek off sheets.

My kids and I got busy deciding what chores or responsibilities we would include on their new Chore Charts.  We included some of the things I tend to have to remind them of such as brushing their teeth, taking vitamins etc.

Our new list included:

Make Beds

Clean room

Take vitamins

Brush teeth am/pm

Feed pets

Clean School room

Reading

Service Project

Practice Instrument

Kitchen Duty

Put Laundry away

Prepare for next day ( pack backpack, clothes out )

Next we headed to our new HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11 to begin creating our new Chore chart – Bonus the ease of using our new HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11 made this process a breeze and fun for the kids to get the opportunity to try out their new laptop.   Choosing the fonts and  colors they wanted the chores written in  – it can get a little crazy letting kids create but my opinion is if they get involved in the process they will own it as well.

Once our chart charts were created and printed  we discussed how we would implement the use of our new chore charts – What would the consequences be, when would they need to check of their daily chores and would their be a reward system.

family-choresNow it’s your turn.  Do you need new chore charts in your home?  Are you ready to create Chore Charts and to begin teaching your kids to be active in helping you around the house:

Step 1 – Create a list – of age appropriate chores that you would like your kids to begin helping you with . . Click here for our list of chore ideas.

Step 2 -Tracking System- choose a system that works for your family. You can create and print your own on the computer or purchase one. There are a variety of ways and ideas from check off lists, wall charts, online chore charting systems etc.

Step 3 – Family Meeting – Schedule a time to sit down with your kids and implement your new chore/family responsibility system.  Get children involved in the process by allowing them to help choose Go over the chore charts or check off lists so they understand their responsibilities.

Step 4-Teach The How To’s
– Have supplies available and at their reach.
– Model-show how to and don’t forget your attitude with your work load.
– Practice -Do it together-literally side by side training

End result – Chores teach kids responsibility and that they are part of a family community its not about what system you use, if you pay or don’t pay it is about YOUR family and what works for you to bring a little less stress to your home each day.
