Celebrating The Victories In Our Children

Have you ever ended the day feeling as though you spent the entire day pointing out to your kids all the things they are not doing right, the areas they need to improve on?   Have you ever looked into your child’s eyes only to realize they are feeling like a failure, feeling as if they can’t seem to do anything right?  and you the mom feel as though you have lost sight of the positive things your kids do, you feel as though you are just harping on them non-stop never giving words of encouragement.

Yes, there are days that our kids need correcting, discipline and encouragement to work harder, make good choices etc.  But  we can easily loose site of our kids successes and victories.  The positive things they do, the right choices they make and the times they serve without being asked.

To help remind us and inspire our kids to daily victories I found this fun idea on The Better Mom blog of creating a victories board.   Hang a chalk board or white board in your home and each time your kids respond  positively,  accomplish something, make a good choice or serve without being asked –  write it on the victory board.  You can even go a step further and once a month host a Victory Party.  A simple dinner celebration where you read off all the victories and encourage them of all the right choices and decisions they are making in their life.

Watch as your kids eyes light up as they read and hear all the victories in their life.
