Once you have entered for your chance to win a grilling prize package, consider trying the following recipe for Grilled Sirloin Steak with Spicy Rub and Chipotle Sauce – and enjoy a healthy meal from the grill.

Grilled Sirloin Steak with Spicy Rub and Chipotle Sauce lauras beef

Prep time: About 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 T chili powder
  • 2 t turbinado sugar
  • 1 t dried oregano
  • 1 t sweet paprika
  • 1⁄2 t garlic powder
  • 1⁄2 t basil
  • 1⁄4 t smoked paprika
  • 1⁄4 t salt
  • 1⁄4 t black pepper
  • 4 4-ounce Laura’s Lean Beef Sirloin Steaks

Chipotle Sauce: 

2 T chopped canned chipotle peppers in adobo
2 t honey
Juice of 1 lime
1 clv garlic
1 T white vinegar
1/2 t ground cumin
1/2 t ground coriander
1/4 cup cilantro finely chopped

Instructions

1. Mix spices together in small bowl. Rub into steak. Put steak into zip-close plastic bag and let rest in refrigerator at least 2 hours or overnight.
2. Heat grill to high. Take steak out of refrigerator and let rest on counter 30 minutes.
3. When grill is hot, place steak on grill and cook until desired degree of doneness. Let rest about 5 minutes.
4. While the steak rests, combine chipotle peppers, honey, lime juice, garlic, vinegar, cumin and coriander in blender and blend until smooth. Stir in cilantro.
5. Serve steaks immediately with chipotle sauce.

Notes

Cooking Tip: Make more of this rub than you need and store it at room temperature in an airtight container. Use it for beef, fish and chicken as often as you want.
