Kids’ eating habits and preferences change on a daily basis and this random pickiness can be especially frustrating when you are out to eat at a restaurant. That is why the National Restaurant Association and McCormick for Chefs^® partnered up to help parents navigate restaurant menus with the launch of its inaugural Kids Recipe Challenge. Kids menu items were submitted by restaurants from around the country and first judged by a panel of experts. But the true test came when 30 children sampled the various meals and provided their honest, unbiased opinion.

Qdoba Mexican Grill, the fast-casual restaurant concept known for its fresh, quality ingredients and innovative Mexican fare, was named the winner in the multi-unit restaurant company (20 or more units) category for its Lil’ Pulled Pork Naked Burrito^® Kids Meal.  Qdoba’s entire kids menu, including this option, is one to take note of for family outings. Each Qdoba Kids Meal includes a choice of one side item (applesauce, vegetarian beans or handmade tortilla chips) and one beverage (100% juice, 1% milk or a small fountain drink). Several options have also been certified as healthy dining options for kids by nutritionists at Healthy Dining Finder’s Kids LiveWell program.
