How quickly they grow up and become independent, which is why I am taking full advantage of the fact that both my 11 and 13 year old boys still enjoy our nightly bed time stories. Though I’m no longer reading them Winnie the Pooh, Veggie Tales or stories out of their Bible story books I am now reading them books to inspire them, teach them and challenge them in their faith and daily living as tween and teens. The books we have been reading are also creating great conversations beyond bedtime.
The recent book we read was ” Who Moved My Cheese” a very appropriate book since by boys are about to have their cheese moved big time with our upcoming five month mission adventure. They will soon be leaving behind their friends, toys, classmates. activities and so much more – yes, their cheese (world) is about to get moved. The book ” Who Moved My Cheese” gave us the opportunity for a great conversation about how we can handle upcoming change and how important our attitude about it all can affect our opportunities and adventure ahead.
This is a great book to read to your children to help them understand that change can often mean new opportunities.
About the book:
Spencer Johnson’s Who Moved My Cheese? is a bestselling book that has helped millions of people around the world adapt and succeed in changing times.
