An Accessible, Welcoming Guide to Believing in God’s Promises

A book review of 101 Moments of Trust: Inspiring Thoughts for Believing in God’s Promises,

by Amy Hannold, 247Moms Contributing Writer

Of all the things we moms want to do in our everyday lives, reading (and believing) in God’s word must be at the top of the list.  Guideposts has created an affordable, accessible way to delve deep into God’s word, and show us the way to trusting in His promises.  For me, and many I know, simply picking up an available bible is not enough.  We want to go beyond hearing from God, and see that His promises apply to our everyday lives.

Here’s your opportunity – take a look at Guideposts Spirit Lifter’s “101 Moments of Trust”; Inspiring Thoughts for Believing in God’s Promises.  You can read this book chronologically, to get a feel for how the author has seen God work in her life, or you can browse for a word that applies to your current concerns.  Beyond prayer, which is usually a part of our time with God, a statement said to God, to affirm our trust in Him, follows each entry in this book.  It’s a great way to read about how God has been there for someone, and how we can ask him for living proof of His presence in our lives now.

I was encouraged by the way the author spoke of a situation or instance she had, and I felt myself uplifted when I prayed the prayer of trust provided after each chapter.  Moms like me are so busy, and it’s nice to be able to have a ready resource at hand with an example I can follow.  I will have time to read this book, as it’s written in short messages, and I don’t have to think too hard for the words I want to speak to God in the little time I have to converse with Him.  I feel better afterwards, knowing that I have seen Him work in the lives of others, and I’ve prayed the words prepared for me that apply to what I’m going through right now.

God’s delivering on His promises, as a result of reading this book, will be clearer my everyday life.   I will be better able to discern evidence that my time with God directly impacts how I approach a situation or draw closer to God.  I will see Him in the smallest of things, praying before I act or seeing Him work (in hindsight) because He has worked all things together for my good.  Any opportunity I have to take in God’s promises and increase my trust in Him is a good thing, and this book is a great way to start out a new year in a closer relationship with my Provider.

I was provided a copy of this eBook for review purposes only. The honest opinions given in this review are my own.  I was not compensated in any other way for my review.
