“Tis The Season To Serve” #COS2012

We have been counting down the days till Christmas with our daily advent of activities and tomorrows (Fridays) activity is going to  be one of my favorites  this Christmas season.

My two boys and I have been asked to join in another Celebration Of Service with The Home Depot foundation.  Can you say “Deck the Halls”.  We will be going to the home of one our countries wounded Solders and helping his family to have a festive Christmas with a pre-lit  tree, large assortment of ornaments, Christmas wreath and even a beautiful tree topper.

Home Depot associates across the country have rallied together and participated in hundreds of projects over the last 4 months during the  Celebration of Service because  The Home Depot Foundation  is committed to ensuring that every veteran has a safe place to call home — not just through financial donations, but also through the dedication and hands-on service of our store associates. I have now experienced this first hand in both projects that  I served on, Stiggy Dogs and The Fisher Houses  and now my children are going to be given an opportunity to learn to serve our Heroes, our Veterans.

How about your family are you giving your kids the opportunity to learn  “Tis the Season to serve”?

Here is a little more about The Home Depot Foundation that might interest you:
