GOT TO GET THE PIPES WRAPPED THIS YEAR UNDER THE HOUSE SO WE DON’T END UP WITH A FROZEN PIPE AGAIN THIS YEAR, THIS IS A YEARLY PROJECT FOR US BECAUSE WHOSE DOING IT DON’T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING… HAHA
We just got through putting plastic up around the windows and we put plastic around our back porch – that traps heat since it has a clear roof- and it really helps heat the house.
We plan on weather sealing our doors and windows. They all leak!
We put plastic up inside our windows and keep the draperies closed in certain rooms when they don’t need outside light.
We need to add more insulation in our attic!
We just finished replacing the weather stripping on the doors and windows.
Bring in outdoor furniture.
I will be calking my windows and sealing my doors
We use thermal window coverings π
Covering the windows and trying to add more insulation.
We put plastic and energy efficient draperies over our windows. Also a draft guard at all off the doors.
I hadn’t really thought about winterizing the home…our last house was really drafty so we put plastic up, but I hate the way it looks! Our new home is much more secure and sturdy. I definitely want to shut the door to the front room though, which means we have to get it back on the hinges! Then I’ll also put a blanket down to seal the cracks near that door and the front door entry.
Window coverings, weather stripping on the doors.
Love free stuff π
I have no clue – the hubby takes care of all the house maintenance – thank goodness!
We are actually in the process of buying a new house right now.. I’m pretty sure the only winterizing we will be doing at this point is getting new seals for the doors! Next year might be another story once we’ve lived there longer.. lol
We just got new windows this summer and we plan to install strips along the doors.
Weather seal.
Sealing in the warmth is key! windows and doors can make it more expensive and cold if we don’t cover the airways.
I live in the south, we don’t winterize anything really…
We plan on caulking windows and buying some thermal curtains for a few rooms.
by sealing the doors well
We’ve put plastic on all our leaky windows!
We actually bought Socket Sealers. I”m not sure if they will save us money but I hope so, kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
I’m just about all winterized. I only have a couple more storm windows to install and I think I will be done. I would love a Programmable Thermostat. Thanks for this contest
We just added extra insulation to our attic and had new windows installed so this winter should be a lot warmer and cheaper for us!

We’re sealing our windows with plastic and took humidifiers out
I bought some Windows Insulation kits
I don’t do much but I should. Although I do put a towel at the bottom of the door so the cold air doesn’t come in.

I like to use those under the door stoppers in the winter to prevent cold air from coming in.
We plan on putting weather stripping around our doors and windows.
