Residence Inn… A Great Place for Families to Stay!

By Leslie Pleasants

Staying in a hotel with kids can be a struggle.  There is always so many things to think about…  What will they do there?  Is it going to be clean enough?  Will the neighbors hear my kids?  Where will we eat at?   Am I going to have to worry about safety in the room?

I was recently invited to stay at Seattle’s Residence Inn Marriott to see for myself.  And I was going by myself.  Thats right!  No husband and no kids.  Yipee!  So I was able to really take in the hotel and actually concentrate…  Breathe…  Relax.

I opened the door to a “basic” Residence Inn’s room and was so surprised on how spacious it was.  This was no basic room to me.  It had a kitchen(w/ full sized fridge), living room w/ sleeper couch, eat-in dining room, separate bedroom, bathroom with separate area for applying my makeup and they had a desk area.  The decor was also very modern and the whole space had this super clean feeling.  I could totally see my kids having plenty of space just in this one bedroom basic room roaming around.  I LOVED the fact that it had the kitchen too.  Even came with dishes and a dishwasher (that you could do yourself or leave for the maid to do).

So that was just the room, onto my favorite perk… the complimentary breakfast every morning.  Oh my goodness.  I wish it was open all day long cause I would’ve just stay down in the breakfast area (which was by the lobby) all day long eating.  They had everything you could possibly imagine.  They were even cooking fancy eggs with spinach… eggs with cheese and regular eggs.  Oh my… I could write a novel on everything that they had to offer.  It was the best complimentary breakfast I have every seen.  It was also the most relaxing atmosphere too.  Very open and you could just sit wherever.  Or take it back to your room.

They also had a gym, a very large indoor pool at this hotel and spa.  Not to mention a laundry room.  A snack area up by the front desk that is open 24/7 where they have drinks and snacks that you can purchase.  They also will go grocery shopping for you for FREE.  Just give them the shopping list that is located in your room and they will shop for you at the local store and bring it back to your room.

Now I know why they call it the RESIDENCE INN!  It’s not just a hotel… its a place where you could live!
