Mom Tip: How To Keep Strawberries Fresh

Mom Tip:  We love strawberries in our home but are so bummed how quickly they can go bad – check out this simple idea to keep your strawberries fresh longer in your  refrigerator:  Use 1 Part White Vinegar to 10 Parts Water.  Soak the strawberries with  leaves still attached  in the vinegar/water mixture for several minutes.  Then drain the berries in a strainer until they are completely dry or place them on a kitchen towel to dry .

Then  place your strawberries in an uncovered bowl in the refrigerator.  The vinegar/water mixture will kill  any mold spores on the strawberries and it will  keep them fresh longer.  The vinegar does not affect the taste.  This also works for blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries
