24/7 Moms was invited to a screening of Chimpanzee in Seattle by Disney. I was super excited to except and go see since I have been posting articles about this upcoming movie for a little while now. I was able to take my two kids a 3 and a 5 year old and husband which was great. Finally a family outing. They already knew about the movie from watching the clips with me. We all fell in love with little Oscar before even watching the movie. The star of the movie…
This movie has many meanings. First main one and the reason for making the movie is to raise money to help save Chimpanzee’s. The jungles are being threatened with weather and humans. Chimpanzee’s are in need of our help and this movie really did motivate me to want to help and once you see it you will understand why. The second meaning to this movie to me is that they are so similar to us. This movie is really about families and love. It takes you through the journeys of life… laughter, hunger, sadness, satisfaction, needing, learning, anger, growing and LOVE.
Oscar being a little baby, you get to watch him and just fall in love with him. He just melts your heart. My kids were laughing, well we all were… and at times we were sad. There are a couple scary moments that my kids jumped in our laps and that was only because when Chimpanzee’s are protecting their territory they just get loud. But there is no violent parts in the film. Just loud Chimpanzee’s and some loud rain and dark clouds that got the kids spooked a bit. But they got over that pretty quickly… Oscar makes everything better with his cuteness.
Overall we (as a family) give this 8 thumbs up!! 🙂 It is a fabulous family movie… a must see movie all around!
To help Chimpanzee’s if you see CHIMPANZEE opening week, Disneynature will donate money to the Jane Goodall Institute to help protect chimpanzees!!
