WIN- Oreck Halo Vacuum

You saw it last night on 24/7 MOMS the new Oreck Halo Vacuum cleaner. The new GERM buster as I call it. Yes, I’m a bit of a germ-a-phobic and knowing that germs have taken up residency on the floors of my home does not help my phobia. However, the Oreck Halo does, with it’s amazing Ultraviolet technology. Want to know the how’s and why’s of the new Oreck Halo that will assist you in creating a happy healthy home then read on…….

Oreck® Introduces World’s Only Germ-Killing Upright Vacuum With UV-C Light

What is the Oreck Halo?

The Oreck® Halo vacuum cleaner is the only vacuum that uses Oreck Halo
Ultraviolet Technology to kill many microscopic germs that can live and breed on your carpets and hard floor surfaces.

It’s more than a vacuum because it does two things at once: the Oreck Halo cleans
the dirt you see on your floors, and, using Oreck Halo Ultraviolet Technology, it can
also kill many of the microscopic dust mite eggs, bacteria, viruses, molds, flea eggs
and other germs that you cannot see on your floors. It does this all without the use
of chemicals, making your life easier because you are vacuuming and killing germs in
one step.

What is ultraviolet light?

Ultraviolet light is a natural form of sunlight. Scientists divide UV light into three
spectrums: UV-A (what people know as black light), UV-B (what is used in tanning
salons and can cause sunburns) and UV-C (light that can kill germs which is the light
used in the Oreck Halo Technology).

What is UV-C?

UV-C is ultraviolet light in the C spectrum and is the technology used in the Oreck
Halo to kill many microscopic germs that can live and breed on floor surfaces. UV-C
is also a natural source of light that the sun produces.

How do I know the Oreck Halo UV-C technology is working?

When the Halo Technology is activated on the Oreck Halo, you will see a blue
glowing ring on top of the powerhead. You also can see blue light glowing from the
edges of the powerhead.

How do I know it’s safe to use around my family?

At Oreck, safety is a top priority. The Oreck Halo has several safety mechanisms
built into the product to assure that the UV-C technology does not cause harm to
your family. First, the Oreck Halo UV-C light will shut off automatically if the product
is turned over during use. Second, the Oreck Halo must be in a standard operating
mode in order to use the UV-C technology so the light will not come on in the
stationary mode. Lastly, the UV-C light will not come on if the attachment door is
even slightly open – it’s intuitive enough to know that if you are using attachments
then you cannot use the UV-C light.

Can the Oreck Halo be used on all floor surfaces?

Absolutely. The Oreck Halo can be used on all floor surfaces including carpet,
hardwood, linoleum and tile. There is a separate brush bar that can be turned on and
off to allow for various floor surfaces; because the brush bar uses a separate motor,
the suction will not be compromised. In addition, there is a height adjustor that
allows you to easily maneuver from one floor surface to another and still achieve
peak cleaning performance. It is important that you use the product as directed in
the Owner’s Manual.

Will the UV-C light fade or burn my carpets or hard floor surfaces?

When used appropriately, the Oreck Halo Upright Vacuum will not physically damage
carpets, rugs, floors or other surfaces.

Does Oreck Halo use HEPA filtration?

Yes. The Oreck Halo disposable cloth dust filter bags are made with one of the
highest quality HEPA materials for maximum air filtration and home air quality.
These bags play a crucial role in trapping 99.95 percent of the dirt and germ
particles (down to 0.3 microns) that your Oreck Halo kills and suctions from carpets
and floors. Best of all, each time you change your dust filter bag you also are getting
a fresh new HEPA filter for no additional charge.

What is the warranty on the Oreck Halo?

The Oreck Halo comes with a three year product warranty and a five-year warranty
on the UV-C light. Oreck Halo also includes three free annual tune-ups.

Where can people purchase the Oreck Halo?

The Oreck Halo is available for purchase on Oreck’s Web site (www.oreck.com), in
our Oreck Clean Home Centers, or by calling Oreck directly (800.289.5888).

  115. Wow, I almost missed out on your wonderful giveaway! Having an Oreck in our home has always been a dream so I am so glad I am in at the 11th hour!!

From the Oreck Website: "Carpet can be the most germ-ridden surface in your home. It can contain approximately 200,000 microbes of bacteria per square inch, and as many as 100,000 dust mites per square yard."

With a family of 5, 3 young kids under the age of 10 and 2 dogs all living in a home that was built over 80 years ago we can really use this state of the art Oreck to make sure our home is as clean and healthy as it can possibly be. I am a clean freak and this would be my ultimate cleaning machine! I can only imagine all the germs, dirt and dust it will be able to find that our current vacuum couldn't come close to picking up!

Thank you so much for the chance to enter!

  116. I just subscribed to your newsletter and think this is a good informative site. If there are 200,000 microbes of bacteria per square inch, I guess I won't lie on the floor and watch TV! I would love this vacuum because we have been renovating for 4 years and cannot put new carpet in until we are done!

  117. Thanks for the giveaway…
