The current pandemic has put a damper on many of our celebrations with family and friends this year. Some of us have missed celebrating birthdays, weddings, baby showers, graduations, and so much more.
However, being apart doesn’t have to ruin the party! You can still celebrate from afar with a virtual party.
Planning a virtual party is a lot easier and even more fun than you might think. Plus, there is hardly any mess to clean up afterward! Who doesn’t love that?
Here is how you can plan your virtual party with family and friends in 6 steps!
1. Plan a Time
When it comes to planning a virtual party for any celebration you want to pick a time that all guests will be able to attend. If you are throwing a baby shower or a birthday party think about the times you might throw those if you were not social distancing. Make sure you pay attention to time zones too if you have family and friends that live further away.
2. Decide on a Theme
If you are throwing a birthday, bridal shower, or just want to throw a fun party for family and friends to gather then there is no reason to not have fun a theme planned! When you have a theme, it is easy to plan the party with fun decorations and activities for everyone to do.
3. Pick a Platform
When it comes to throwing a virtual party it’s a good idea to choose a platform ahead of time that will fulfill all your needs. Make sure you give your guest detailed instructions on how to join the virtual party. Some of your guests might need extra assistance so give yourself plenty of time beforehand to help them connect.
4. Set an Agenda
It’s always a good idea to let everyone know what to expect when it comes to the virtual party. Here are some of our tips on planning a virtual party:
- Put together a slide to let everyone know what to expect.
- Plan on making the party short, an hour minimum to two hours maximum works great!
- Let your guests know ahead of time of what supplies they might need. You might even mail them supplies ahead of time too.
- Plan some fun activities to keep things exciting.
- Include a final celebratory moment such as a birthday cake and everyone sings happy birthday to the special person or a big gender reveal if it’s a gender reveal party!
5. Invite Your Family and Friends
Let your guests know about your party. You can start by sending online invitations or mail-in invites through the mail, so it feels like a real party!
6. Prepare for the Party
Make sure everything is ready for the big virtual celebration a couple of days before, so you aren’t feeling stressed. If you need to mail supplies for some activities that are happening in the party, make sure you mail those out way in advance.
The day before the party you can send out reminders to your guests letting them know how excited you are that they will be joining you. Confirm that the guests have received the code or link to join you online.
