2. Shop on the Right Day

Most of Targets price tag markdowns for certain departments occur on specific days of the week. If you know the schedule of when to find the best deals for what you are shopping for then you can get the best deals.

This schedule is almost good for most Targets:

Monday: Electronics, accessories, kids clothing, books, baby, and stationery
Tuesday: Domestic goods, women’s clothing, pets, and market food items
Wednesday: Men’s clothing, health & beauty, diapers, lawn & garden, and furniture
Thursday: Houseware, lingerie, shoes, toys, sporting goods, décor, and luggage
Friday: Auto, cosmetics, hardware, and jewelry

3. Price Tag Markdown Decoding

The price tag at Target is full of different codes, but you can easily decode it. The lower left of the tag has the original price and the upper hand right corner shows the percentage of the markdown.

If the price tag ends in $0.06 or $0.08 then the item will be priced down again. However, this only applies if there is inventory in the store. It likely will remain on clearance for around two weeks.

If the price tag ends in $0.04 then this means the item is on final clearance and will not be marked down again. You’ll want to get this item now!

Target’s app (previously the Cartwheel app) has opened up a new loyalty program called Target Circle. This program offers 1% when shop to redeem at Target later, access to hundreds of deals and offers, a and birthday gift that gives you 5% off a shopping trip.

The app includes Target’s weekly ads, so when you are in the store you can easily access the weekly ad and see what deals are currently going on. Target Circle also has specific coupons found on their app. For instance, if you spend $30 on laundry soap you get a $10 Target gift card.

Target lets you stack coupons, so when you are at the checkout with a Target coupon, a manufacturer’s coupon, and a third coupon (for example, a Target Cartwheel discount) for the same item. Talk about great savings!

6. Shopping for the Holidays

If you are wanting some holiday decoration items or back-school items that are almost free, then wait a couple of days or a few weeks after the holiday to buy them.

Most holiday items will be cut by 50% the day after the holiday and candy will be cut 30%. If you wait a week or so, then the items can go down to 70% off and a few days later if anything is left then it will be around 90% off.
