The last thing we want to do on a hot night during the summer is turn over ovens on. Standing around and spending hours cooking in the heat is also another no-go for me. I’m sure it’s something you don’t want to do either.
When it’s too hot cook, I always put together family dinners that are quick and easy. I also stick to recipes that won’t require much cooking in the kitchen, especially avoiding the oven. The oven is a heat trap and that’s the last place I want to be during a hot summer.
Keep cool this summer with some of my favorite fast and no-cook (even kid-friendly) family dinner ideas!

Step up the normal turkey-deli sandwiches with a pita.
You can tell I love using rotisserie chicken a lot. This recipe includes cooking bacon. You can either cook it or not add it to the wraps.
A quick and fast family meal. You can use all sorts of toppings to make these chicken tacos. Get a whole buffet of toppings the family loves.
This “fettuccine” recipe requires no stove top to cook at all. It’s a great way to hide those veggies as well for the kids.
This recipe calls for cooked chicken breast but you can easily use rotisserie chicken.
