With the kids home for the summer, you got your hands a bit more full than normal for the next couple of weeks. The kids are excited to be home and getting a break from school. Their ready for some fun and their much needed summer vacation. You’re likely already hearing the summer phrases of “I’m bored!” or “There’s nothing to do!” It’s all the same every time. Trust me!
So, how are you going to keep the kids entertained this summer? Well, with the warmer weather here, this calls for some fun summer parties. A summer party with family and friends is fun. It’s perfect for celebrating a birthday, working with your neighbors on a block party idea, or starting a new summer tradition.
If you plan on having a summer party, you’ll need to choose a theme. Take a look at some summer party themes for some inspiration!
Backyard BBQ Party
Host a backyard BBQ party with family and friends. You can use traditional picnic food. You can use country inspire decorations, such as sunflowers, mason jars, paisley print and plaid tablecloths.
If you have a pool in your backyard, then throw a pool party. You can decorate this theme with sand, seashells, beach chairs and seafood. Host a bonfire at the end of the night.
Tex-Mex Summer Fiesta
Mexican food is a favorite for almost everyone. You can use colorful garlands, paper flowers, cactus plants, and pinatas (the kids will love this if you fill it with candy!). I love the idea of adding a nacho bar with a variety of toppings. You can also hard shells or soft shells for those who want something different than nachos.
Bring the tropical island to your home this summer. Use tropical flowers, palm trees, grass skirts, and anything else that reminds you have nice tropical weather. You can play Hawaiian music for guests to dance to as well.
Ice Cream Social
Is it a hot summer for you? Host an ice cream social with family and friends. You can set up an ice cream bar with a variety of toppings, such as chocolate chips, strawberries, cherries, marshmallows, and different syrups. Decorate with ice cream inspired decorations and bright colors.
Picnics are a fun summer activity to do. Potlucks are a great way to bring an assortment of different foods together. So why not combine the two together for a potluck picnic? You can create a signup sheet before for guests to fill out. Include appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks. Guests then can bring their chosen food assignments, which makes it perfect leaving you stress-free when it comes to getting all the food together!
