The Fourth of July is a fun day for the kids. There is excitement with the food, fireworks, and being with family and friends. But it’s not always about fireworks and eating delicious food. It’s a wonderful time to celebrate family, community, and things that make our nation special.
There is never a dull moment when it comes to celebrating Independence Day too. There are local parades, fireworks, and outdoor adventures. If you are looking for some fun activity ideas to celebrate the 4th of July with your family, take a look at some of our favorite activities to do during the fun celebration with the whole family!
There is a lot of pageantry with the big celebration. The decorations are vibrant with red, white and blue colors. If you have a 4th of July celebration in your neighborhood, gather the kids on the block with their bicycles.
Provide materials for the kids to decorate their bikes in red, white, and blue colors:
- Construction paper
- 4th of July decorations
Once they have all finished decorating their bikes, have the whole neighborhood gather and watch the kids parade up and down the block on their bikes.
Play Patriotic Party Games
Plan on playing some fun outdoor games with your kids. You can set up a relay race, water balloon fight, or more. You can also play some indoor games like bingo-inspired 4th of July cards or a 4th of July I Spy.
Make Some Festive Crafts
For the festive day you and the kids can make some fun crafts that can be decorated throughout your home.
Bake Some Red, White, and Blue Treats
You can whip up some patriotic treats with bright colors to celebrate with the kids. The kids can learn a thing or two about baking along the way.
Find a Fireworks Show
Watch the sky light up as a family by attending a local fireworks show from a Fireworks Retailer. It’s not truly a celebration without some fireworks to celebrate Independence Day!
Attend a Local 4th of July Parade
Head out with the whole family to a local 4th of July parade. You can deck out by wearing red, white, and blue colors as you watch the parade together.
