Quick Tips for Busy Moms Getting Ready in the Morning

It can be a hard process getting ready in the morning. When you are running around last minute gathering your children or helping them get ready can leave you with only a few minutes to get ready. You might grab yesterday’s clothes since it almost seems easier to do then picking something new out.

There are easier ways you can get ready in the morning. You can feel good about how you look and walk out the door ready for a new day. Don’t worry, you will still have time to take care of the kids.

Here are some quick tips to help you get ready on those busy mornings.

Makeup

Start with setting up an easy makeup routine. A little makeup, such as mascara or eyeshadow, can help bring color and make you feel good about yourself. Get rid of old makeup that is empty and broken. You might even consider going to get a new look if you haven’t been in quite some time. It’s also easier to organize your makeup in a drawer or bag so you can find what you are looking for and have a quick 5-10-minute makeup routine.

Hairstyles

Look for new hairstyles that fit the shape of your face. You can look online or speak to your hairstylist. A variety of different hairstyles that are quick can help you to be ready in no time.

Jewelry

Put on a little bit of jewelry. Earrings and necklaces can add a bit of color to your outfit no matter what you are wearing. It does not have to be a fancy piece of accessories either—simple earrings or necklaces can do the trick too.

Pants

Make sure your pants fit you. Pull out all of your pants and make sure you try them on. You can match them with different shirts. Make sure you leave them in an easy accessible area in your closet for those busy days you need to grab and go.

Shirts

Find your favorite style or your top favorite shirts. Put them near the pants or in an accessible area where you can grab them also when you need to leave the house right away.

Organize yourself

Sometimes we carry an unorganized mess around with us—our purses. This can make us feel like a mess even when we have left ready to take on the day when we are scrambling through our purses.

Make an effort to clean out your purse and get it organized. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly. You might even consider updating your planner or calendar in your phone. You’ll be amazed at how this little bit of organization makes you feel better.

Prep the night before

Take at least 20 minutes each night and prepare yourself for the morning. Pick out what you are going to wear. Find your purse and keys and set them where you can easily grab them to head out the door. Make sure your kids are ready before the morning as well—get their homework done, lunches packed, backpack by the door, and shoes.

Prepping the night before can help your morning routine go smooth.

Make your bed

It has always helped me to start my day off by making my bed in the morning. There is something about a made bed that helps me feel more relaxed and ready to take the day on. I think it also sets my mind to be more productive and motivate me to get things done as well.

Don’t forget to compliment yourself

It’s important to remember to compliment yourself at the beginning of each day. Remind yourself how great you are and what a wonderful parent you are. You deserve to think of yourself in a positive way.

Being a mother can be stressful. Sometimes we can forget to take care of ourselves. Remember to take time out of your busy life and set time for yourself. Even setting up a quick morning routine can help you feel better and to focus more on the important things in life instead of being stressed out. I hope these quick tips will help you live a little more organized life.
