My weekly walk with my best friend is essential to my sanity. It’s a great time for us to catch up, enjoy the outdoors, have some me time, and of course, get a great workout!
From carpooling the kids, to tackling endless loads of laundry, to getting a healthy dinner on the table, moms do a lot for their family and often sacrifice “me time.” In fact, on average, moms spend only 15 minutes a day on themselves. It’s time to “walk-out” on the mommy madness – at least for one night a month.
Why is it important to walk with a friend and not alone? Many studies have shown that working out with a partner or group of people encourages you to stay on track and motivated. Many people choose to workout with someone who lives within close proximity. The most important thing is to walk with someone who is an encouragement to you and who you really feel refreshed around.
To help you stay on track with your workout goals, I’d like to introduce the Omron Alvita Wireless Activity Tracker (HJ-327T), a petite, powerful and affordable activity tracker. It allows you to transfer your fitness data wirelessly to your smartphone with their free Omron Fitness App. Featuring Bluetooth® Smart technology, the Alvita Wireless Tracker records regular steps, aerobic steps, distance and calories burned so you can set realistic goals and check progress along the way. The tracker is only $45, perfect for women not wanting to spend a ton of money on a fitness tracking device.
I used my tracker when I got out this week with my best friend. I was shocked to find that 3 miles flew by before we knew it. Having the ability to track how much we’d accomplished was rewarding and a fulfilling end to our walk. It felt great to see that my days total was 5.8 miles with 315 calories burned!
Here’s to “me time” and a great spring workout!
