Your anniversary can be a big deal for you when celebrating the next year of your marriage, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend lots of money on a night out or a gift for your spouse. There are plenty of frugal ways you can celebrate your anniversary.

Reliving Your Firsts
Reliving your firsts together is a fun and inexpensive way to celebrate your anniversary. To get started, make a list of the important firsts within your relationship.
- Where was your first date?
- Where did you have your first kiss?
- Where did you first say, “I love you”?
- What was the first movie that you watched together?
- Who was the first band that you saw in concert together?
The list can go on and on. So, once you have complied your list, ty to relive as many of your firsts as you can on your anniversary.
If you no longer live within the same area or the first date you had at a restaurant is no longer in business, then you can recreate the moment in another place. You could go to the same type of restaurant for example.
A New Adventure
Has there been something you both have always talked about doing “someday”? Make your anniversary that day you finally do it!
Put all the plans in place beforehand so that you can surprise your spouse with a new adventure. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive, it just needs to be something that changes your routine and experiencing a new adventure together.
Do a Project Together
Is there a home improvement project that never seems to get done or around to? Work together to finish the project.
It will give you both an excuse to spend quality time together. The finished project can give you a remember of your anniversary every time you see it too.
If there are no projects for you to do together, find a volunteer project to help with. Helping others is a great way to remind you both of how lucky you are as a couple.
Restaurant Hop Around
Do you enjoy going out to eat regularly or on your anniversary? Try restaurant hopping.
You can have drinks at one restaurant, appetizers at another, and so on until you finish with dessert. You don’t spend anymore than your normally would, but the evening will last longer and will be filled with tasty new memories.

Get a Combined Gift
Instead of giving individual gifts to each other, why don’t you agree to buy one thing that you both want? It can be better use of your money. You’ll enjoy picking the gift out together.

Give your spouse the gift of their favorite things. You can show them how well you’ve come to know them over the years by giving them an assortment of their favorite things.
