One of the most anticipated events in the life of expectant mothers is the day they will finally be giving birth to their baby. Experienced mothers are aware that the first and second trimesters are always tough, but nothing compares to the challenges that women have to overcome on their third trimester. It is time you should stop your work and get ready for the coming of your little one. However, boredom may inevitably creep in at times. Nonetheless, there are many things pregnant women can do to pacify themselves from the anxiety and pain of giving birth.
Visit the Spa
On your third trimester, you will most likely experience body aches, and chiropractors may not always be around to alleviate the pain. By visiting the spa, you get the luxury of relaxation and quality massage to soothe the aches.
Set Up the Nursery Room
Where do you plan to put your baby to slumber? Do you want it in a bassinet or a crib? Whichever way you choose, the nursery room has to be a haven for your little one. Your top focus should be avoiding sudden infant death syndrome or SIDS.
Buy Something Special for Yourself
During pregnancy, women are always advised to wear flat shoes. But should you deprive yourself of buying your favorite pair of shoes when shopping at the department store? During my 3rd trimester, I went shopping and found a nice pair of a stiletto. So, I bought them. After I gave birth, I went out on a first date night with my husband and wore the new shoes.
I know it will be tough to do some physical activities especially when you’re experiencing fatigue and body aches. But working out is excellent for your body, especially when preparing for giving birth. This will keep your joints stronger and your energy higher.
Sip some tea rather than binging on ice cream and ice cream. Get yourself something that is not only soothing but also low in calories.
Get a Mani and a Pedi
Many expectant mothers want beautiful, nice nails on the day of delivery. Getting yourself a manicure and a pedicure is the best way to relax and have some fun. Not only that! On your third trimester, your feet are likely to experience pain and swelling, especially that your belly continues to grow.
Go to A Hair Salon
Pregnant mothers love getting their hair done. Although your her hair looks lovely now, it can still be improved with some touches done by hair experts.
Hire Someone to Clean Your House
It will be difficult to clean the house by yourself, especially that you are experiencing pain. Hiring a cleaning service will be an excellent move to prepare for your baby’s arrival.
Enjoy a Short Vacation
Some call it “babymoons” or the “last hoorah” trips before the baby’s arrival. This will be an excellent idea to enjoy a short weekend while at the same time bond with your family.
A Five-star Meal? Why Not!
How would you like to enjoy your favorite meal before your delivery date? It will surely be an enjoyable activity to be going on a night out and have a sumptuous dinner at an excellent dining restaurant with a sophisticated atmosphere. It is also the best opportunity for you to wear your best wardrobe.
Buy A Pregnancy Pillow
During the third trimester, there’s nothing more convenient than getting a good sleep. However, it is just too impossible to have one especially when you’re experiencing body aches. In my case, I bought two pregnancy pillows and sprinkled some lavender oil on them. I sure did have a sweet sleep.
Foot Soak at Home
Research studies have shown that soaking your feet for 10 minutes can do a fantastic job in relieving stress and anxiety as well as improving circulation. Well, you can get this done at your favorite spa, but you can also do this at the comforts of your own home. You may use essential oils, Epsom salt, and a basin of warm water.
Know the Different Stages of Labor
It is important to educate oneself about the different stages of labor before the delivery. First-time mothers usually labor for 15 hours minimum to over 20 hours maximum.
Talk to Your Baby
Talking to your baby is a great way to initiate the bonding process. You can narrate your everyday activities with them or read a book or tell them your secret wishes. This will also help in developing their language skills.
