It’s all over the news, facebook and twitter – Starting next month Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort will no longer allow visitors with disabilities instant access to rides. Their reasoning to reduce abuse of the policy.
Under the current policy, Disney visitors with disabilities receive a guest assistance card that allows them quicker access to rides, typically entering in the exit doors thus avoiding the main lines.
However, in recent years there have been widespread reports of able-bodied people abusing this policy. Visitors have been known to hire disabled people to pretend to be family members so they could skip lines. Now the dishonest are ruining it for those who truly need this service. Are you with me and ready to scream. How does one think it is right to hire someone so they can skip lines that were meant for those who truly need this service. What kind of example is this to their own children. I know, I know I’m right there with you.
However, it has happened and Disney is taking a stand against it. Unfortunately their stand is hurting those in need as well. Again not fair. I agree so I am asking you to help take a stand for those who truly need this service and let Disney know where you stand on this by signing a petition.
