Marvel’s The Avengers Cookies from Williams Sonoma

From Leslie Pleasants

I love to bake cookies and so when I received Marvel cookie cutters and a Hulk spatula in the mail from Disney I was super excited! Everywhere has Avengers items out right now. It is taking over the stores. :) But Williams Sonoma? Who would’ve thought! You know if an item comes from them that its going to be good… and it was. These cookie cutters are deluxe!

The cookie cutters come with instructions and a yummy sugar cookie recipe.  They are so easy to use that even your children could use them.  Just make sure that you dip the cutters in flour each time before cutting them in the dough.

When ever I bake with cookies I also use a Insulated Cookie Sheet.  They sale them at all stores.  Walmart, Target, Macy’s, etc…  They make the best cookies.  Never burn and cook through out the cookies evenly.  I have had mine forever and it shows but it still works perfectly.

Look,  You could just eat them like this with no frosting on them and you know what characters they are!  But now the fun begins (and the mess).  lol

When frosting cookies I have always used the same frosting for many many years.  It’s very similar to Martha Stewarts Royal Icing but with out the egg whites.  Below will be the recipe.

I just made a huge batch of it (quadrupled it) and then divided it up into bowls to mix the colors.  Then I spooned it into decorating tubes (as pictured).  You can get those at the Dollar Tree or craft store.  Even grocery stores carry them so you can put mustard in them.

I just start with one color at a time and once it starts getting a little hard I through it in the microwave (with lid on) for about 6 seconds.  Then back to frosting I go.  With these cookies because there was so many different colors and layers going on I would put them in the fridge after each color to set faster while I would work on another color.

My kids kept wanting me to add sprinkles to them but I told them next time.  We were bringing these to a boys birthday party.  :)   Whats up with kids and sprinkles anyways ??    FYI,  if they don’t like a food you serve them just put sprinkles on it.  Makes everything better.  lol

**Big tip:  After making your dough.  You must put in fridge for at least a couple of hours before using.
